The photographs of Howell, Perkins and Magnús Ólafsson are now in an Internet-accessible, navigable collection using Luna Insight® software, with supporting catalogue data entered into Multi MIMSY (licensed to Cornell by Willoughby Associates). A detailed register of these photographs also appears in Manuscript Material, Correspondence, and Graphic Material in the Fiske Icelandic Collection, compiled by Þórunn Sigurðardóttir, Islandica 48 (Ithaca, NY: Cornell University Press, 1994). The goals of this database include historical and social understanding of Iceland and the Faeroes of a century ago, facilitation of remote access to the images and utilization of digital images with the intent of safeguarding the originals.
